How to strikethrough text in Telegram: all methods

I have already created an article with all possible formatting methods in Telegram. But in this one, we’ll merely look at how to make strikethrough text.

1. Context menu

Windows
  1. Select the text you want to add formatting to.
  2. Click it with the right mouse button.
  3. In the opened menu select “Formatting”.
  4. Press “Strikethrough”.
Android
  1. Select the text you want to add formatting to.
  2. Press three dots at the right top corner.
  3. Instead of the usual menu, you’ll see the formatting options menu.
  4. Press “Strikethrough”.
iOS
  1. Select the text you want to add formatting to.
  2. Click “Format” or “BIU” in the opened context menu (if you don’t see it press ▶ on the right).
  3. Press “Strikethrough” (you can scroll through all formatting options by pressing ◀ ▶ on the sides)
MacOS
  1. Select the text you want to add formatting to.
  2. Right-click it.
  3. Select “Transformations” in the opened menu.
  4. Press “Strikethrough”.

Select the text you want to add formatting to and you’ll see all the options immediately. The “S” icon is just what you need:

MacOS: ⌘ + Shift + X

3. Markdown

Simply add double tildes (“~~”) before and after the text you want to strikethrough:

And then send it.
